DeWit tools come with a clear epoxy sealant applied to the handles.  After extended use, it is recommended to oil them to prevent drying or cracking. The experts recommend oiling your tools with boiled linseed oil. Just apply it liberally over the entire tool, let it absorb for about 15 minutes, then wipe off the excess.  If you live in a drier climate, you should oil the handles more often to prevent them from drying out and cracking.
